Quiet Shadow, in/ei, is Takeno Shuzo’s meditation on shadow, inspired by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s *In Praise of Shadows*.

Rather than pursuing perfection by removing every trace of “unwanted” flavor, toji Yoshiki Yukimachi embraces contrast. Just as shadow gives dimension to light, these subtle imperfections give the sake depth, character, and a lasting presence.

Brewed slowly and with exceptional care in Kyotango, in/ei begins with a rich, almost silken texture. Refreshing acidity and savory umami gradually unfold, revealing a complex, multidimensional finish.

At its heart is osore - a profound sense of awe and reverence for the rice, the microorganisms, and the land that make sake possible.
