The average alcohol content in Sake is 15 – 16 percent.

Sake Tax Regulations stipulate that the alcohol percentage of Sake must be less than 22 percent. However, the yeast used in Sake fermentation would perish if the alcohol content exceeded 20 percent, hence the alcohol content of Sake typically does not surpass 20 percent.
