California Redemption Value Included in Sales Price
At Saketaro, we are proud to inform our customers that California Redemption Value (CRV) is seamlessly integrated into the sales price of applicable beverage products sold on our platform.
Consumers pay a California Redemption Value (CRV) fee when they purchase beverages, which includes eligible containers such as those made of aluminum, glass, plastic, or bi-metal. As of January 1, 2024, this also includes beverage containers like boxes, bladders, or pouches containing wine, distilled spirits, wine coolers, or distilled spirit coolers.
CRV refunds are provided when consumers redeem their containers at authorized recycling centers or retailers, referred to as dealers in the program. Refund values vary depending on the size of the container: 5 cents for containers less than 24 ounces, 10 cents for containers 24 ounces or larger, and as of January 1, 2024, 25 cents for boxes, bladders, or pouches containing specific beverages.
At Saketaro, we understand the importance of transparency and simplicity in the purchasing process. Therefore, we include CRV charges in our sales prices to ensure that customers have a clear understanding of the total cost upfront. This means that for containers under 24 ounces (180ml, 200ml, 300 ml, 500 ml, etc.), a CRV charge of $0.05 each is included, and for containers above 24 ounces (720ml, 1.5L, 1.8L, etc.), a CRV charge of $0.10 each is applied.
